International Concourse Fueling System
Player and Company was entrusted with the expansion of the fuel storage and distribution system for the new Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. On-time is a must for the country’s busiest airport.
This project, which had to be accomplished without interrupting service to the existing concourse, consisted of the installation of:
- New 35,000 bbl fuel storage tank
- 8000 gpm capacity pump station
- Fuel control service building with a quality control laboratory
- Installation of nearly two miles of 20 inch diameter underground fuel mains
- 14 in. carbon steel aviation fuel piping to serve the airport’s extended cargo facility
All pipe joints were welded per ASME Code and x-rayed to ensure code compliance. All underground piping and catholically protected to provide a durable system.
Aviation Fueling System Expansion
Player and Company was selected as the prime contractor for an expansion and upgrade of an existing Jet A fuel storage and distribution system for commercial air travel. The project included two new fuel storage tanks and the necessary site development to support the new expansion. The project increased the Jet A fuel storage by an additional four million gallons, along with pumps and filters for the new tanks. Piping, electrical, instrumentation, containment and coatings were also included in the project scope. The work was installed on an accelerated basis due to an ever increasing demand. The project was completed on time and within budget.
